Can a woman become pregnant if the sperm only touches the outside part of the vagina/the opening? and if so, how likely is this?
ANSWER
All it takes is one sperm to meet up with one egg and bang! there’s a baby!
Sometimes couples feel safe if the man pulls his penis out of the vagina before he has an ejaculation. But, there can be sperm in the pre-cum that leaks from the end of the penis before an ejaculation happens, and before a man pulls out.
Also, even if he ejaculated outside the vagina, sperm can drip back inside. This can be particularly dangerous if the women is ovulating — because that’s when she is most fertile. Plus, sperm can live inside for several days as they swim around looking for that egg.
So, don’t take any chances — always, always, use protection. There are many types available today. At the very least use a condom.
