Exercises To Do Together

Sacred Bathing

Time for Exercise: 15 minutes to one hour

Properties Required: fine bath soaps, bath oils, bath salts, bubble bath, fresh or dried flower petals, shampoos, incense, essential oils, music, candles, refreshments (optional)

Steps:

1. Make sure the room is wonderfully warm.

2. Fill the bath with water at a temperature that suits both of you.

3. Add to the water as you prefer: bath salts, bath oils, or bath bubbles. Fresh flowers are particularly beautiful floating in the water.

4. Make the rest of the bathroom as lovely as you can by adding candles, houseplants, or fresh flower arrangements to the area.

5. Light incense or heat essential oils in diffusers.

6. Play sexy, sensual, or spiritual music.

7. Bring in a cool, exotic drink or a glass of wine for your refreshment during the bath.

8. Spread something soft on the floor to step onto when you finish the bath.

9. Dry your bodies with your most luxurious towels.

Variations:

  • Take turns washing each other’s body and hair.
  • Dry each other.
  • Shave each other.
  • Rub some delightful body lotions on each other after the bath.

Comments:

If you don’t have a bathtub, you can share a shower together. Baths are preferable for sacred bathing as there is a ceremonial significance to submerging in water. However, even a sponge bath with a bucket will do to cleanse the dirt from your bodies and drop away the cares of the world. Extended Tantric loving times often begin with a sacred bath ritual.
