Ceremony and Ritual – Soul Freedom (Part 6 of 7)
Ceremony and Ritual
Through ritual, ceremony, and energy practices, we touch the unknown and the unknowable—the divine mystery. Ritual and ceremony are the language of the soul. They activate the awesome, magical possibilities in the imaginal realm of our creativity. We are amazed, astonished, and filled with wonder. We are renewed. Such mystery is never knowable in advance, never predictable, and therefore never boring.
Ritual is the soul’s language.
In ceremony and ritual, lovers see and treat each other as god and goddess, worthy of adoration. Looking for the divine in your partner enables you to become aware of the other’s glory. You transcend the pathetic and pitiful worldview that insists humanity is corrupt and sinful. Ceremony and ritual reintroduce play and a delightful lightness of being into your relationship. Masks, costumes, candles, crystals, semi-precious stones, incense, and sweet grass are some of the tools used in ceremony and ritual. Let your imagination run wild.
Soul Sex
The spiritual quest does not have to be an isolated, lonely journey. In soul sex, lovers fly into the mystery together, inviting God into their hearts and into their beds. There is complete surrender to each other and to God. Hearts are made sweet by surrender to each other and souls are made sweet by surrender to God. Control is the enemy of ecstasy. The more we try to keep things under control, the more we reveal our insecurity. Opening unconditionally to the wonder of what is and the mystery of what is yet to come is real freedom.
Soulful lovers join with God in divine mystical union. This is possible because we are spirits in a body. Each individual is a node of consciousness capable of merging with all and everything. As a drop of water merges into the sea, so are you capable—by your very nature—of knowing God through direct personal experience. Such an experience is a gift of grace, the manifestation of complete Soul Freedom.
