If you bought $1,000 of Yahoo stock one year ago it is now worth $79. If you bought $1,000 of Nortel Networks stock one year ago it is now worth $48. If you bought $1,000 of Juniper Networks stock one year ago it is now worth $43. If you bought $1,000 of PSINet stock one year ago it is now worth $1.75. If you bought $1,000 of E Toys, Inc. stock one year ago it is now worth $1.66. On the other hand, if you bought $1000 worth of Budweiser beer a year ago and drank it, returned the cans for a .05 cent recycle refund, you would now have $85.70. (Based on $6.99 a 12 pack). The moral is obvious, while we are having stock market troubles go out and invest in some beer!
